this was supposed to be a relaxation trip for me but i didn’t feel relaxed at all. the crowd was insane and all 6,800 rooms in this hotel was taken up. :\
35 more pictures under the cut.
we arrived genting at 12.30pm after a 6-hour long bus journey. spent my time on the bus catching up on gossip girl, merlin and pushing daisies.
look at the crowd of insanity.
we had to get a queue number to check in and seriously, it was worse than queuing up in the polyclinic. when we arrived, they were serving 44. our queue number was 388. -_-
so we decided to slack at
starbucks. used their wireless connection to surf the web (my dad brought his laptop). slow but at least i have something to do while waiting.
after 3 hours, my mother and i decided to go shopping at the mall.
bought a graphic print skirt which i fell in love with at first sight. it was on 50% discount too!
finally checked in after close to 5 hours of waiting. my mom was so pissed off she went to find the manager and suggested a change of system.
went for buffet dinner at the coffee terrace. the food was so-so. not very fantastic…
i went for japanese cuisine first. :D
sashimi and sushi!
salad bar next. i need my veggies.
other stuff that i shared with my family:
mom’s prawn noodles
this is ipoh hor fun. :\ i thought ipoh hor fun is cooked with starchy brown gravy.
dessert! i made my brother taste them before deciding whether to get some myself. he said it wasn’t really good so i didn’t eat any. haha! i only go for quality cakes. sorry, too pampered. :P
they are nice to look at though.
buffets are so not worth it for me..
i think my brother ate like 10 times more than me.
pretty cupcakes at some cafe.
random shot of a carousel in the mall.
woke up at 8. went down for breakfast which sucked real bad. i have better breakfast at home.
the bread was stale, the sausages were overcooked, i don’t eat curry for breakfast and the eggs tasted like plastic. urgh.
took the cable down the mountain because we were heading to mid valley mega mall in KL for shopping.
a shot of mummy in the cable car. :]
it was kinda foggy at the top of the mountain so we couldn’t see how high up we were. :( i told my family that it would be awesome to do a flying fox all the way down. oh what fun! *rubs hands with glee*
played psp while waiting for the KL bus to arrive.
waited 20 minutes for the train to arrive. things like these makes me appreciate singapore more.
had lunch at ding tai feng. have been craving for xiao long baos for quite some time.
the menu was slightly different than singapore’s.
totally love this dish. century eggs and tofu with pork floss and salted egg yolk crumbs. i want more!
brother’s deep fried spring rolls.
candid shot of the parents.
continued shopping after that. i didn’t buy much though.. the fashion there is so much different from here. not my cup of tea.
had dinner at kenny rogers roosters.
skipped breakfast at the hall and went for brunch at some chinese restaurant instead. had dim sums and century egg porridge. :D
and that’s the end of the genting trip. nothing exciting, right?
